Driving home from a walk in the forest, I saw a dead animal lying in the shoulder of the road. I thought it was a raccoon and we stopped for a moment. We drove a bit further, then stopped again, stepped out and walked back to take a look and see if we could do something. Coming closer, Wistful Oak thought it was a little wild boar, but seeing her head I knew immediately knew it was a badger. In all the years we have live here, we have never have seen one, and now we found a one dead. Probably driven over by a motorcar. We decided to give her a better resting place. Wistful Oak lifted the animal up and found out how heavy the poor beast was. He moved her down the slope and – still not yet satisfied to leave her there – moved her again and covered her with dead wood.
